On the sidelines of "Lous Festayres", on Sunday 25 August, the Prayssas Festival Committee organized a garage sale on the magnificent Sainte-Anne alleys in a green setting.

Many curious and buyers stopped in front of the stands of about thirty exhibitors who proposed many objects: dishes, children's clothes, some "paintings of local masters", sandstone pots, objects and some unusual items such as small nurse tools and copper charcoal buckets that have been noticed. The business was rather good in the opinion of the exhibitors. As usual, Nicole Mascarin, chair of the festival committee, looked for the unusual and original object of the day. We found an authentic "picnic basket" from the country of His Gracious British Majesty, in good condition and with all the elements (plates, cutlery, etc ..) to participate in the many gourmet markets of the villages of our land and especially that of Wednesday evening in Prayssas.

This "So British" object, unique in this garage sale, was sold by a distinguished couple whose fairly sophisticated habits correspond to the class of this object. We will not surprise you by revealing that it is a member of the famous "Franco-British Club of Prayssas" (Club Franco-British Prayssas) who has purchased. The price of the transaction has not been revealed!

The festival committee is composed of 14 members and is chaired by Nicole Mascarin. Created in 1931 under the name of "Syndicat d'initiative", it changed its name in 2010 by ministerial decision (?). Its activity is intense and it organizes a variety of events: 3 garage sales a year, 2 evenings, musical dinner, the Music Festival and two to three exhibitions a year. The festival committee opens its doors to anyone wishing to help organize these festivities that contribute to the attractiveness and dynamism of the village. Let us take this opportunity to thank all the volunteer members who give their time and effort to make these holidays a success.

The next events of this end of the year. Sunday, October 13, the big garage sale on the Place de la Mairie which still attracts many bargain hunters, and the Christmas flea market on Sunday, December 8.

The next general meeting of the festival committee will be held in September. The date will be soon specified in no columns.
