5 individuals suspected of wanting to attack security forces arrested

Four men and one woman were arrested on Monday. Suspected of preparing an attack on the police, they were taken into custody.

The five suspects were arrested in Tours (Indre-et-Loire) and Cape Breton (Landes) on Monday. They are suspected of wanting to attack a hotel where will be housed gendarmes during the G7, which begins this Saturday in Biarritz (Pyrénées-Atlantique), indicates BFMTV citing a police source.

The four men and this woman aged 24 to 45 are already known intelligence services to belong to the anarcho-autonomous movement.

"Cramer the hotel"

They were spotted on social networks where they discussed the location of police during the G7, including a hotel where will be housed gendarmes, evoking the possibility of "cramer".

Arrested by the judicial police of Tours and the research section of Bordeaux, they were placed in police custody for criminal conspiracy to commit an offense and destroy property, says the chain of information.

Interior Minister Christophe Castaner will travel to Biarritz this Tuesday afternoon where he will review the security system. The G7 will take place in the Basque city from 24 to 26 August.
