3425 km is the distance that separates, for example, the Nardò circuit in Italy where the Trondheim test was conducted in Norway

Porsche has been warning for some time that Taycan is not going to be an electrician anymore, and that above all will behave like a real Porsche. This means that you must be able to offer high performance for long periods of time; what combined with its ultra-fast recharge system will allow you to travel long distances in a single day.

To prove it, the engineers of the Stuttgart firm have taken a pre-production unit of the Taycan to the Nardò circuit in Italy, with the intention of subject it to a hard resistance test.

The Porsche Taycan has not disappointed, and has been able to travel 3425 km in 24 hours. This is equivalent, for example, to the distance that separates Nardò from Trondheim in Norway. As if this were not enough, the test has been carried out in extreme temperature conditions, reaching a maximum of 42 degrees. A high temperature that means having to endure up to 54 degrees on the track.

3425 km non-stop routes

The test was performed without any unnecessary interruption, rolling at all times at a speed between 195 and 215 km / h. The only time the Taycan stopped was to perform an ultra-fast recharge, which in turn was used for the change of pilot. The Porsche team used for this test was made up of 6 professional pilots.

Porsche ensures that the results obtained in this stress test show the advantage of Porsche's innovative technology, whose electric propulsion system works at 800V, instead of the 400 of other electric.

The Taycan is going to be the first electric production vehicle that will use this technology, based on the one already used by the Porsche 919 Hybrid that won the 24 hours of Le Mans three consecutive times. Thanks to it, it is possible to maintain high performance for a long time, reduce battery charging times and reduce the weight and space occupied by all wiring.

Porsche's advanced technology has made it possible

The sophisticated battery management system of the Porsche Taycan has also played a key role in achieving this success. This system cools or heats the battery, as appropriate, so that it stays at the optimum temperature at all times. In this way, its performance is optimized and excessive degradation over time is avoided.

This is Porsche's second demonstration of Taycan's capabilities before its official presentation on September 4. Just over a week ago Fully Charged had the opportunity to perform 30 consecutive acceleration tests from 0 to 200 km / h, without a reduction in vehicle performance.

Don't miss the Taycan live streaming presentation event

This new test of resistance of the Taycan, covering 3425 km in only 24 hours, leaves us still more eager to see its presentation. Porsche has already posted on its YouTube account the link from which live streaming will take place this next September 4 at 3pm (Spain time). You can find it below:
