“I hope your kids die.” This is one of the threats received by the mayor of Corbetta, in the Milanese, Marco Ballarini. But the list of insults, addressed to both the first citizen and the commander of the local police, is very long. To trigger the people of Facebook was a fine of 290 euros, which the brigade imposed at the end of March in Pasquale Sirianni, a citizen residing in the municipality of Casorezzo, who had gone to the Esselunga of Corbetta to do the shopping, thus violating the government decree for contrasting coronavirus.

But the fine hadn’t taken it well and, a few days later, had posted a video of complaints on Facebook, in which he accused the mayor and the local police of having him unfairly sanctioned and to have also humiliated him because of his family condition: “I have a wife with a serious pathology and one disabled daughter “Sirianni had said. Adding: “I was returning from Pero, where I have a company that is still working. I wanted to let you know how we are treated by the authorities, now we are prisoners. On Friday 27 March I left my company to go home and go shopping first. The brigade pulled me over and asked for documents. After that they told me that I couldn’t be there and they made me a fine 290 euros “.

In fact, like the cameras placed at the Corbetta gates they will show later, the fined citizen did not return from his company, which incidentally is not even his. But in the meantime Facebook users had already gone wild, also because the video had gone viral, finishing on the website of the program ‘Le Iene’: unrepeatable offenses, sexist insults to the commander of the police and threats to the mayor. Someone went further with private messages: “I hope your children will die of some rare disease and will pass it to you first, when you go to them like a poor fellow to see them the last time.” Others have inconvenienced the more classic “jerk” and “shitty man”. Still others have the blows against the female agent sank, addressing an invitation to the fined citizen: “You had to buy a coconut and a salami. So while you wrote the fine, with the coconut you split your head and with the salami you split the … ”

The mayor provided for report six people who have distinguished themselves for their verbal violence, four of which have already been identified: “These silly characters – commented Ballarini – can also threaten me with death, but I’m not afraid. In fact, I will work more than before to enforce the rules and to protect health of my fellow citizens “. A Corbetta, in fact, have already been fined more than fifty supermarket customersall residing in other municipalities, which had crossed over without justified reason. The mayor is among the very few to have taken the government decree seriously, unlike many of his colleagues, who limit themselves to the classic lecture without penalties.
