The fire fighters who arrived at the scene noticed smoke coming out of the second floor of the apartment on the premises. Four victims of the fire were evacuated to the trauma unit. MDA senior paramedic Tamir Sharon said: “When we arrived, we saw smoke rising from the apartment. The citizens who were there told us that the toddler had been rescued from the apartment on fire. He suffered burns in his upper body and smoke inhalation. We put him in an ICU and gave him life-saving medical care which included respiratory assistance and medication and we cleared him in a serious condition to the hospital. ”
Rabbi Reshef Shalom Zaror, a fire and rescue officer who was operating in the scene, said, “We were told about a fire with trapped people on Moalem Street in the Ramat Sharet neighborhood. Jerusalem MDA forces and from there they were evacuated to the hospital. At the same time as the rescue operations, we extinguished the flames and prevented the spread of fire. ”
