Against the growing fear of the Corona virus and the arrival of the disease in Israel, former minister Ayub Kara posted on his Twitter account last night that he had been given a message in Russia, as a tribute to the opening of the Peace Center, “a special device to stop the corona’s spread.”

“This is a device for cleaning drinking water and balancing it in terms of the compound invented by engineer Evgeny Protopovov,” the minister wrote, adding: “Evgeny delivered the device to me today in San Petersburg. On my way to Israel tomorrow.”

The minister’s comments come after it was announced today that 30 students and two teachers from Be’er Sheva were placed in solitary confinement after it emerged that they were staying with a group of tourists from South Korea, nine of whom had been infected with the virus. It was then reported that another 60 students from Kiryat Haim came in contact with them and were also asked to enter the isolation.
