The statement came from HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan. According to the news in CNN Türk, Buldan, who evaluated the alliances in politics, said, “We always advocated that alliances should be transparent, but what we allied did not favor this,” and said that they agreed not to be at the forefront of the alliance established in local elections.
“At least we have accepted this time to win the Istanbul elections, but we say that such things should not happen in terms of the next process,” Buldan said.
HDP did not nominate candidates in Istanbul, Ankara, İzmir, Adana, Mersin, Hatay, Aydın, Antalya, Bursa, Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa in the local elections of March 31, and this move was interpreted as a support to the Millet Alliance. Pervin Buldan also underlined that alliances should be open from now on.
