Then, having identified the winning coupons, he kept them for himself by paying the amount due for the purchase so as not to arouse suspicion, only to put on sale to the unsuspecting customers those of whom he had already ascertained the failure to win.

An easy way to win but it has been discovered. With the accusation of fraud on the market and fraud, the carabinieri of the Brescello station denounced a 25-year-old bartender residing in Mantua with activities in a bar in the Reggio Emilia area.

The carabinieri were activated by some customers who, after purchasing the Scratch and Win lottery coupons and finding the anomaly: the bar code was slightly scratched. They asked the bartender for explanations who apologized for the inconvenience and compensated the customers for the cost of the coupon.

However this did not prevent the intervention of the carabinieri who during the checks ascertained the presence of 52 tickets with the scratched barcode, now seized. The investigations carried out with the Monopoly ascertained that the seized Scratches had been validated on dates prior to the day of the seizure and therefore could not be put up for sale. Moreover, the military has verified that in the recent past in the same year a series of winnings had occurred that had been collected by the same bartender.

Further investigations are underway to establish the total amount of revenue received unduly by the bartender with this expedient and to identify any further defrauded customers who, unlike those who activated the military, did not notice the ploy that saw them buy losing tickets .
