Severe mourning in the world of music
In the last hours the world of Italian music has suffered a serious loss. Unfortunately it has failed Said Mariano. The latter was a popular author and arranger and left us at 82.
Unfortunately he had been hospitalized last week for some respiratory complications, in fact even the artist had contracted Coronavirus. Mariano had become famous and popular as one of the protagonists of Adriano Celentano’s ‘Clan’.
Said Mariano is dead: he worked with Adriano Celentano but also Al Bano
In his long career he had written and arranged songs of great success for our country’s music iccone such as Mina who has turned 80 in these days. But also the late Lucio Battisti, Al Bano Carrisi, The Chameleons, the tenor Mario del Monaco and Molleggiato himself.
To the latter he composed the famous song as ‘The boy on the street Gluck’. He also wrote the soundtracks of a couple of cult films from the 1980s such as ‘Yuppi Du’ and ‘The Country Boy’, with Renato Pozzetto. In 2006 Detto had received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement, a prize deserved in recognition of his work.
Romina Power also wanted to remember him on Insagram with a photo that portrays him as a young man and the following message: “He was of a unique sympathy and contributed with his original arrangements to many of our successes, he was a witness at our wedding and shot the only shots of the event with his super 8 camera. Mariano, you will never be forgotten. We carry you in the heart “. (Continue after the post)
The memory of Cristina D’Avena
Apparently the late Detto Mariano has also worked with Cristina D’Avena, the queen of cartoon characters. In fact, the latter through his official Facebook page dedicated a very moving post to him: “Today Master Detto Mariano, one of the great composers with whom I had the good fortune to work in the early years of my career passed away, to him I have unforgettable acronyms such as Maya’s great dream and The adventures of sweet Katy”.
