The well-known singer Fedez has sparked a controversy related to the emergency for Coronavirus: this is what the rapper said.
Clash open between Fedez and the Codacons. The topic of the real distance duel is fundraising for the Coronavirus emergency. In recent days, the association that protects consumer rights has communicated that it has approached the Antitrust Authority to verify the correctness and transparency of the solidarity campaign to which the rapper and his wife Chiara Ferragni have given away. Thanks to this, intensive care was built in San Raffaele in Milan in record time. Something however continues not to return to the Codacons, which he asked to clarify commissions applied by the company that hosted this solidarity campaign. This, however, in agreement with the two, has already donated € 250,000 in commissions to some Italian hospitals, as stated by the same artist only a few days ago.

But that is not all. The association has made it known that the Antitrust Authority will have to proceed to block all fundraisers launched by private individuals, as the issue of commissions is very unclear. An attitude and behavior that has not gone down in Fedez. The singer vented his Instagram stories, blaming the Codacons harshly: “Their proposal would be to block all private fundraisers. That is, all the millions of euros raised to help public hospitals, cancel them and stop them. I am appalled, someone stop them“. And the rapper then raised the dose: “On their official website there is a campaign to support Codacons against Coronavirus. But if you go to click it is actually a banner on Coronavirus, where the donation goes to Codacons, which does not deal with the health emergency. And this is a parastatal association that should protect consumers?“.

The Codacons reply was immediate and was entrusted to Adnkronos: “Meanwhile we have to thank this gentleman, who I think is a singer, because we are receiving many donations from many who did not know it could be done and now thanks to him they know it. Fedez didn’t understand anything. In fact, we raise funds for complaints, warnings and appeals in this moment of emergency. 42 things are already done and yes, they are funds in support of Codacons, but for the Coronavirus emergency“. The explanation on the fundraising issue also comes, underlining how the request, made with a formal act to the government, is that the money be paid directly to the Civil Protection account, because the latter is a public body. In fact, according to the association, the risk would be that private individuals do not assign them to those in need.
Ferragnez controversy, Codacons’ response
There is also an important explanation on the question of commissions: “It must be said that the percentages that remain to the private individual are very high, that is, in addition to a 2.9% of collection costs, there is also a system that identifies a percentage, indicated in a very small note that can be modified but that almost nobody reads, that gives 10% to the private individual“. The version of Codacons then ends with an arrow, to say the least poisonous to the Ferragnez, as the finger is pointed at their luxurious life and on the continuous posting of photos of their child.
