It should be noted that even within the ultra-Orthodox sector, the funeral was attacked with particularly harsh words. Last Friday, Bnei Brak Mayor Avraham Rubinstein was interviewed in Israel this week about the efforts to comply with the guidelines on the ultra-Orthodox street. Interior Minister Gilad Arden announced an emergency hearing on the issue. “Conducting the mass funeral in Bnei Brak is a very serious and life-threatening event. I demand that the Israeli police enforce equitable enforcement of the Ministry of Health’s guidelines in all parts of the state, without any exceptions. I have today invited an urgent discussion with the police command regarding enforcement in the ultra-Orthodox sector. “The directives and the police must prevent extreme parts of the public from endangering the life of the public. This is its mission and must not compromise.”
