Lorenzo Dalla Porta will be one of the athletes awarded at the Collari d'Oro on Monday in Rome. Recognition also for past champions such as Ubbiali or Uncini.

A decidedly triumphant vintage for Lorenzo Dalla Porta, first historic Italian winner of the Moto3 title. In addition to the party in his city, there is also a national recognition. The Tuscan driver has been included in the list of those who will receive the Gold Collars, that is to say the highest honor of Italian sport in Rome. The annual ceremony will take place on Monday 16th December at 11:00 am within the Foro Italico University. The athletes will be rewarded by the President of the Council Giuseppe Conte, there will also be the President of CONI Giovanni Malagò and the President of the Italian Paralympic Committee Luca Pancalli.

Many athletes who have distinguished themselves in a large number of sports this year too, including Paralympic sports. We are talking about characters like the handbike champion Alex Zanardi, as well as the swimmers Simona Quadarella, Gregorio Paltrinieri and Federica Pellegrini, the fencer Bebe Vio, the biathlon boys Dorothea Wierer and Dominik Windish. Just to mention some prominent names in Italian sport, athletes who are always protagonists on an international level. Among all these there is also space for motorcycling, with awards for current and past champions.


First and foremost Lorenzo Dalla Porta, Moto3 2019 champion, but also the champions before 1995 will receive the award. We are talking about Carlo Ubbiali, nine times world champion in 125cc and 250cc between 1951 and 1960. There is Pier Paolo Bianchi with three 125cc titles (1976, 1977, 1980), then Mario Lega, 250cc champion in 1977. Let's move on to Eugenio Lazzarini (125cc world champion in 1978), Marco Lucchinelli (500cc champion in 1981), Franco Uncini (500cc champion in 1982). Fausto Gresini (125cc world champion in 1985 and 1987), Luca Cadalora (125cc and 250cc champion in the 1986, 1991 and 1992 seasons), Alessandro Gramigni (125cc world champion in 1992).
