(AVN) – Venice, 15 November 2019"We have received word that the Chinese Wanbao property of Mel's Acc has informed the workers' representatives that the financial resources available will be exhausted by February and that the Borgo Valbelluna production site will therefore stop the activity. I am astounded with respect to the ways, the style and the contents of corporate communication by the property, which denotes an absolute lack of knowledge and respect for the institutional rules that govern trade union relations in our country and total disregard for the commitments made at the governmental level ". The Veneto Region Councilor for work, Elena Donazzan, condemns in no uncertain terms the conduct of the Chinese multinational that in 2014 took over the management of Mel's appliance compressor factory in Belluno.

"The hope now – continues Donazzan – is that the Chinese go away as well, no one holds them back. But I demand, also on behalf of the institutions of the territory, that they put us in a position to exploit a productive reality, such as that of Mel, which with respect to the regional, national and international production context still has much to say, provided we know how to do it ".

"The Veneto Region, in thanking the Government, the Ministry for Economic Development and the Minister Federico D'Inca, owner of the relations with the Parliament, who have shown wide availability in this dispute, is ready to support every government initiative in order to send a clear message to the Chinese multinational and the Guangzhou municipality, to understand that this is not the correct behavior with which to approach good economic and productive relations with our territory: a warning that will also apply to other hypothetical collaboration initiatives, such as for example the interporto of Padova ”.
