Landslides, accidents, swollen rivers, floods, trees fallen in the street. The torrential rain is once again frightening. So many hardships, an evacuated family, the highway of the closed Sun: here are the consequences of the bad weather that is breaking down in these hours on the province of Arezzo, fortunately there are no injuries.

Bad weather, the situation in the province of Arezzo

It was a night of super work for the fire brigade of the provincial command of Via degli Accolti. So far, there have been around twenty interventions for the most varied emergencies. Among these: roadways invaded by large branches or whole trees felled by the fury of the wind, flooding, especially of the bottoms and cellars. The valleys most affected in the province are the Valdaro and the Casentino. But there are also much more serious damage: landslides and collapses.

Closed the A1 between Valdarno and Arezzo: a river of mud and debris

A landslide occurred in Autosole, along the Arezzo stretch of the South lane, in the middle of the night. Around 4:00 the artery in the direction of Rome was closed to traffic due to the sliding of the side ridge. A car has remained mixed, fortunately there are no injured people. After the mandatory exit of Valdarno – explains a note from Autostrade per l'Italia's 7.19 – take the SR 69 and return to Arezzo. For long journeys, exit at Firenze Impruneta, follow signs for Siena, take the Siena-Bettolle connection and return to Valdichiana. A wall collapses in Loro Ciuffenna: a family is evacuated

Another important intervention at Loro Ciuffenna. Here the firemen of Arezzo were called for the collapse of a wall, whose debris ended up on the house below, causing damage to the entrance to the house. No person, even in this case, was injured, but the family residing in the building was precautionary evacuated.

The bridge over the Arno di Ponticino is closed

Among other measures taken as a precaution, there is the temporary closure of the bridge over the Arno in the hamlet of Pontincino, in the Valdarno of Arezzo. The river, like almost all the courses in the province of Arezzo, is particularly enlarged.
