Stephane Moreau came out of silence this Sunday morning on RTL-TVI. The former boss of Nethys gave his version of the political scandal that has plagued Walloon life for several years. According to him, he committed only one fault: not to have communicated.
Stephane Moreau was the guest of Christophe Deborsu this morning on the show "C'est pas tous jours dimanche" on RTL TVi. He spoke for the first time on television since the beginning of the Nethys affair.
"We have resigned"
Stephane Moreau confirmed that the management of Nethys has resigned. "We have resigned, it's over"he assured. And he does not intend to fight against his eviction: "On do not fight against windmills. And then it's the choice of a company to change board and management. "
According to him, the suspicious sale of subsidiaries Win, Elicio and Voo was done in full transparency. The former Mayor of Ans therefore considered that he had not committed any professional misconduct. On the other hand, he said he regrets one thing: "My big mistake is not to have communicated".
A salary too high?
Since the beginning of the Publifin file, he has been criticized for his salary of one million euros a year. In 2017, the policy asked him to divide it by four. "Did you do it?"asked Christophe Deborsu. "Yes quite", he assured. Stephane Moreau then insisted that it is not the senior management of Nethys who fixed his remuneration.
"Most political parties have found normal, for decades, that in other industrial enterprises in a competitive environment that belong to the Walloon Region like Sonaca, the FN, the wages are the same cask.one million euros per year ", launched Stephane Moreau.
"These companies have, after adoption of the governance decree in 2018, obtained a derogation on all the constraints that weighed on Nethys (…) And I think it must still highlight this different treatment between other industrial companies belonging to the Region and what has been reserved as a fate at Nethys ".
"Impossible to dialogue with the Walloon government"
The former strongman of Nethys regretted the impossibility of conducting a dialogue with the Walloon government and hoped that the economic model he has put in place does not collapse. "I would be extremely unhappy to see this model collapse, what I regret today is that there is a lack of understanding and that it has not been possible to have a dialogue with the Walloon government. .) I think that if we had had a preliminary discussion, we could have landed differently and find solutions ", did he declare.
"I had the right to criticize a socialist activist"
Stephane Moreau regretted the way he was treated. "This story is a bit ubiquitous, it's a series of misunderstandings, misunderstandings, and we could have avoided this situation if we had not excluded the Liege MEPs from the Publifin commission." Clearly, I had the right to criticize a socialist activist, not a manager ", he said.
Finally, the former boss of Nethys spoke about his future. "I think I'm already going to take a step back, I do not know if you imagine, but morally and physically, it's extremely painful to live this, so I'll take a step back first.".
The extraordinary general meeting of Nethys approved on Friday the appointment of a new trio of directors composed of Jean-Pierre Hansen, Laurent Levaux and Bernard Thiry.
