Dead child stuck between bed and furniture: the tragedy in Turin

Tragedy last night a turin, in a building on Via Pacini, in the neighborhood Barrier of Milan: one child five months old she was found dying at home by her maternal grandmother, where she had been left by her parents, with her head stuck between the headboard and a piece of furniture, in a prone position on the mattress.

Unluckily, the aid provided by 118 health workers arrived on the scene. There child, of Moroccan origin, was transported urgently to the Regina Margherita hospital where she is dead soon after. The carabinieri of the Oltredora company and of the scientific investigation team for the investigation of the case intervened. The parents of the child were not at home when it happened: they had entrusted the child to her grandmother, as happened before.

According to a first reconstruction, the 56-year-old grandmother would have left her on the bed for a few minutes to go to the bathroom. On her return the child would have been found already unconscious, prone on the mattress with her head stuck between the bedside and a piece of furniture. The woman's alarm at 118 was immediate, but the rush to the hospital was useless: the child died during the transfer. "I'm desperate, I only left it a few moments", he would have declared his grandmother to the military.

The grandmother was denounced for abandoning a minor. The body of the child is in the hospital morgue waiting for an autopsy to be performed.
