The strong thunderstorms, which struck, on Sunday, the mountainous region ofImlil, in the El Haouz region, caused material damage in. Heavy rains caused severe flooding in the valleys that were filled, draining massive rockslide, which subsequently disrupted traffic and damaged a series of cafes and cars.
The National Directorate of Meteorology had announced that violent thunderstorms would be recorded locally, from the orange level, Sunday, from 1 pm to 10 pm in several regions of the Kingdom.
The Directorate had explained in a special bulletin that these thunderstorms were going to concern the provinces of Haouz, Aousserd, Assa-Zag, Smara, Ouarzazate, Wadi Ed-Dahab, Taroudant and Tata.
