As an “extra” or “+1” title it obviously needs to be added The Irishman by Martin Scorsese, of which we have already spoken to you at the time of the release in the room. Get it back or find out on TV tonight.
#IoRestoACasa watching good cinema, tonight on TV but also all the other evenings …
Tonight on TV: Rough diamonds with Adam Sandler streaming on Netflix
The new film of the Safdie brothers (Good Time with Robert Pattinson), vaguely inspired by the story of the directors’ father, is already one of the best titles of 2020.
The American Jew Howard Ratner (Adam Sandler, resounding) has a precious jewelry store, the vice of gambling and a flood of debts. Plus a marriage on the brink of divorce and a young unfaithful lover. Chased by creditors, he is convinced that he has accomplished the business of life by purchasing a raw stone from Ethiopia.
Super start, with the camera starting from the theft in a diamond mine in Ethiopia, to the throbbing colon of the protagonist…
As if to say that this man’s life is in diamonds and inside their material. The whole world of the Safdie seems to revolve around the obsession with everything that has to do with money, betting, exploitation. Howard is a loser because even when he “wins” he always wants more.
What will become of Howard Ratner?
Tonight on TV: Spenser Confidential with Mark Wahlberg streaming on Netflix
Barrel, beats and low blows. If you are looking for a hypercontemporary noir comedy, mixed with incorrect humor and a little violence, Spenser Confidential it’s the movie for you. It is the story of Spenser (Mark Wahlberg), a former Boston cop, framed and sentenced to five years in prison for having beaten his captain to death.
Back in the wild when he is killed, he is the prime suspect. To exonerate himself, he will put himself on the trail of the real perpetrators.

Mark Wahlberg (right) in an action movie scene streamed on Netflix: he is Spencer Confidential, to watch on TV tonight (or even earlier)
Humor from buddy cop movie style Lethal Weapon is Die Hard, urban western sense of justice and, above all, a lot of frenetic action, at the last breath.
The sequence instant cult is the one in which Spenser is attacked by a fighting dog (one of the few scenes for which Wahlberg used the stunt double).
And … action!
Tonight on TV: The Other Side of the Wind Orson Welles streaming on Netflix
The unfinished film by Orson Welles.
It must have been the great return of the author of Fourth power in Hollywood after 20 years. Production lasted from 1970 to 1976, assembly continued in the 1980s. Stuck due to various problems, Welles never managed to complete the film until his death in 1985.
The film was completed following notes and notes by Welles himself. Presented in Venice in 2018 it is now visible on Netflix and is a real joy for the eyes.

The poster of The Other Side of the Wind by Orson Welles: streaming on Netflix for film buffs and not
It tells the story of a director, JJ Hannaford (played by John Huston!), who left an unfinished film (from the same title as Welles’ film). Looks like he committed suicide. What really happened?
In this very personal “8 1/2” by Welles, life from sets and fragments of film intertwines. Unsettling use of photography and the gaze, to be studied in any film school.
Notes Elder Hannaford: “Cinema and friendship … are real mysteries!». Welles’ latest masterpiece.
Tonight on TV: Jim & Andy with Jim Carrey streaming on Netflix
If you are a fan of Jim Carrey this jewel is truly unmissable. Jim & Andy it’s a documentary about what happened while filming the wonderful Man on the Moon by Milos Forman. Magnificent (anti)biopic about comedian Andy Kaufman.
Kaufman often wore the role of an alter ego, Tony Clifton, a terribly unpleasant character.
In the doc we see Carrey staying constantly “in” the character even between clapperboards. It’s Kaufman, but also the nasty Clifton. The latter is also co-producer of the documentary.
The subtitle of the film is long, eccentric and excessive like a work by Lina Wertmüller. The Great Beyond. The Story of Jim Carrey & Andy Kaufman With a Very Special, Contractually Oblidged Mention of Tony Clifton.
The best spirit of comedy weird and pure extravaganza USA animate this truly unique film.
Tonight on TV: The dictator with Sacha Baron Cohen streaming on Netflix
If you like the unfair and outrageous humor of Sacha Baron Cohen don’t miss the comedy The dictator by Larry Charles.
Aladeen (Cohen) is the dictator of the phantom “republic” of Wadiya. Spoiled, vicious and cruel, he goes to New York for a confrontation with the United Nations on the topic of nuclear power … Someone tries to kill him. The meeting with Zoey (Anna Faris) will perhaps breach his tyrant heart.

Sacha Baron Cohen is The Dictator: unmissable streaming on Netflix
The English actor gives his best in a whirlwind of absurd situations between humor Marx brothers updated and scratches to US hypocrisy in pure style Borat.
The fake Arabic-Wadiyana language is actually Hebrew, sometimes Yiddish.
“Why do you Americans have it so much against dictators? Imagine if America became a dictatorship: you could leave national wealth to 1% of the population … you could make your rich friends even richer!».
Good visions!
