The EU Commission has today activated the safeguard clause of the Stability Pact, which will allow governments to “pump money into the system as long as necessary”. The President of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced it in a video message today.
“It has never happened so far,” he added, “coronavirus has a dramatic impact on our economies, most sectors are affected,”
