The Sicilian Region has communicated, as usual, the data of the coronavirus diffusion on the Island to the National Crisis Unit.

With regard to today’s data, in Sicily 73 new cases of positivity and 6 deaths were recorded.

Since the beginning of the checks, the swabs validated by the regional reference laboratories have been 11,079. Of these, 1,260 were positive, while, currently, 1,168 people are still infected.

500 patients are hospitalized, including 75 in intensive care, while 668 are in home isolation, 53 recovered and 39 deceased.

A figure that goes against the trend, the Sicilian one, compared to what happened at national level today.

DEAD BOOM IN ITALY, CHINA IS OVERCOMED FOR TOTAL CONTAGTS

In the usual evening press conference, the Civil protection provided the new data on the coronavirus emergency in Italy.

The death toll in Italy reached 9,134 deaths, an increase compared to yesterday of 969 units. This is the highest number of deaths since the beginning of the emergency.

A total of 66,414 coronavirus patients in Italy, with an increase of 4,401 compared to yesterday. Thursday the increase had been 4,492. The total number of infected people – including victims and healed – reached 86.498. The Bel Paese therefore surpasses China in terms of the number of infected people.

The cases of positivity recorded today amount to 5959 units.

With regard to the currently positive, there are 3,732 patients hospitalized in intensive care, 120 more than yesterday. Of the 66,414 patients overall, 26,029 are then hospitalized with symptoms and 36,653 are those in home isolation.

10,950 people were healed in Italy after contracting the coronavirus, 589 more than yesterday.
