The Equestrian Club in Riyadh is preparing for the establishment of the “Saudi Arabian Cup” for horse racing in its first session, on Saturday, February 29th, on King Abdulaziz Square in Riyadh.The club has completed all the preparations and equipment for launching this important international event in the world of horse racing, which the Kingdom is hosting for the first time, under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and with the direct support of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The President of the Equestrian Club Prince Bandar bin Khalid Al-Faisal revealed the tournament details at the press conference organized by the club yesterday (Wednesday) at the members ’club’s headquarters in Al-Malaz, indicating the presence and participation of the best horses, coaches and riders from all over the world in the first international race of this size held in the Kingdom, indicating That the Saudi Cup awards are the highest in the level of similar races in the world, amounting to $ 29.2 million, pointing out that the event would convey to the world the cultural scene in which our country lives, not only at the sports level, but at all levels, It will also reflect the image of our vibrant society The booming economy and progress in the various fields stipulated in the Kingdom’s 2030 vision welcome all participants from different countries of the world.
He explained that each of the 8 international races on the Saudi Cup day will witness the participation of 2 Saudi racing horses.
He added: “King Abdulaziz Square hosted for many years a lot of important races and events and contributed to revitalizing this industry in a healthy environment and a stimulating environment with the interest of owners, coaches and horses in the Kingdom, but the upcoming international knights challenge in the (Saudi Cup) will be the beginning of a new era in the history of This sport in the Kingdom, and we seek to promote and develop local and international races, to contribute to the cultural scene industry, along with many other prominent events that are now organized in the Kingdom, putting the Kingdom in the right place on the map of global sports ».
A member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the technical committees of the club, Prince Abdullah bin Khalid, said that it was taken into consideration that the Saudi Cup championship is distinctive and different in terms of technical level and in terms of diversity in the ages, ages and categories, according to international standards and specifications, and was also keen on the integration of all working committees.
