In the next two weeks, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is on an overseas tour that includes Saudi Arabia, Oman, Germany, Senegal, Angola, and Ethiopia.US State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagos said in a statement today (Wednesday), that the tour begins on February 13 in what will be its last stop on the 22 of the same month. Ortagos indicated that Pompeo arrives in Munich, Germany, on February 14, where he will lead his country’s delegation to the Munich Security Conference.
After Germany, Pompeo will visit the Senegalese capital, Dakar, followed by a visit to the Angolan capital Luanda, and then Addis Ababa, in Ethiopia, where he will meet African Union Commission President Musa Faki.
The US Secretary of State concludes his tour in the Arab Gulf, specifically in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, from February 19 to 21, to discuss regional issues and issues of common concern with the Saudi leadership.
Then, Minister Pompeo will move to the Sultanate of Oman to offer condolences to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said and to meet his successor, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, to emphasize the stable partnership between the two countries.
