There was a big explosion in a chemical plant in Port Neches, Texas. The explosion occurred early in the morning and people living in the area were evacuated. For now there are no reports of injuries, but damage to nearby buildings is visible.

The heat of the explosion and the subsequent fire is so intense that it was detected by the satellite of a local television station. Some residents said it looked like a bomb went off. The first rescuers arrived on the spot were ordered to stay away due to the risk of new explosions.
