As we know, the block of the US companies license to work with Huawei has forced the company to no longer depend on all those US companies with which it worked for the development of its devices (smartphone, tablet and wearable). This led to the birth of the Huawei Mate 30 series without Google services and the development of HarmonyOS, or the competing operating system of Google's Android. The ban had an impact of such a magnitude that the company had to develop an alternative ecosystem to the absence of the Google Mobile Service.
However, as reported Bloomberg, things could change in the short term. In fact, although Huawei is still included in the list of "unwelcome" companies to the Trump administration, the government is going to to guarantee again to some US companies to conduct business with the Chinese company. In fact, according to the Secretary of Commerce's statement Willbur Ross, over the next few months the government will evaluate the trade requests coming from well 260 American companies.
Although it is impossible to know the entire list of commercial realities affected by this small US government opening, it seems quite natural to assume that the US license for companies to work with Huawei also interests Google. As we said, the Mate 30 was Huawei's first smartphone to mount Huawei Mobile Service and a different OS from Android, but maybe it could return to normal within the next few months.
However, the license for US companies to work with Huawei again does not concern 5G: it seems that the Trump administration is still quite convinced of the immediate threat of having at home a telematic infrastructure potentially within reach of the Chinese government.
