In fact, with 5G you can transfer a large amount of data, given the speed up to 1 Gigabit, with a reduced latency (the time between the sending of a request and the arrival of the reply) and the negligible error rate: if with 4G a packet of data on a thousand does not arrive at its destination, with 5G one arrives at one on a million. There Pirelli is the first company committed to exploiting the advantages of the 5G network in the tire sector.

FITTO DIALOGO – The experimental tires developed by the Milanese manufacturer, called Pirelli Cyber ​​Tire, integrate a sensor that takes into account the kilometers traveled, the driving conditions and also potential dangerous situations, such as wet asphalt or poor grip; in the future the sensor will also take into account the tire model. This information will be transmitted to the car, which can adapt its own systems safety in order to prevent dangerous situations for the driver. It will be the car, through the 5G network, to share warning messages to road infrastructures (via the V2X protocol), from where they will be sorted to the cars that are approaching the stretch of road at risk.
