Tesla Model S Plaid beats the Porsche Taycan at the Nurburgring, but the weather is not yet official

In the last visit to Nrburgring Tesla has set a new record, at least according to Auto Motor und Sport. The German newspaper has timed by hand the times recorded by the Model S with Plaid engine, based on three electric motors, with interesting results: the four-door American electric would indeed have crossed the finish line in 7:13, a less than 29 seconds shorter time than the one signed by the Porsche Taycan.

The Tesla Model S record an unofficial lap time, made with a vehicle that is likely to diverge from the model that will be marketed with the new engine. However, Elon Musk has repeatedly made it clear that his company intends to place the fastest electric vehicle in its class on the market, and the increasingly frequent visits to the Nrburgring began just after Porsche set the record with Taycan.
During the previous visit Tesla had already signed a better time than that of the German electric, however Musk had indicated that the new four-door could have run with some small innovation even in just over 7 minutes. The time of 7:13 could therefore still be unsatisfactory for the company's objectives, however none of the times recorded have been formalized by the track technicians. Unfortunately we do not know these times with which prototype (and what modifications) have been recorded.
Auto Motor und Sport, which is usually quite reliable with time surveys at the Nrburgring, wrote:

"Somehow Tesla managed to have a free track and finish two laps in 7:13 timed freehand, according to our local source. Tesla has reduced the unofficial time (7:23) in recent weeks again. Tesla Model S blue sat the experienced pilot of the Nordschleife Thomas Mutsch ".

Some of the prototypes of the new Tesla Model S that ran at the Nrburgring presented extreme aerodynamic appendages which we will hardly see in the versions offered on the market by the American brand, including rear extractors is ailerons with a clear racing flavor. In short, we believe it is very difficult for the authorities of the Nrburgring to declare the last records of Model S.
however it is interesting to point out that, if 7:13 was confirmed, the Model S would beat the time of the Jaguar XE SV Project 8, that the fastest four-door vehicle to have ever filmed at the Nordschleife after the Panamera "Lion" project, which completed the tour in 7:11. to note also that Porsche has not yet filmed at the Nordschleife with the Taycan Turbo S. One thing to be clear: the battle is still very open.
