Not only from an aesthetic point of view (now it's the scaled copy of the previous V4 1100), or changing its name, Panigale V2, but above all from a technical point of view with some innovations that reinvigorate the "Panigalina" project.
A bike that has many arrows at its bow and is intended for those who, perhaps intimidated by the exuberance of cavalry of the sister with the Desmosedici Stradale engine, would like something more at hand, on the road and on the track.
A sportiness within the reach of many, without herds of horses that can arouse fear, but which does not remove a comma from the Panigale banner. On this "small" (so to speak, it is still almost a 1000) and very slim V2 we find many features of the V4 family. Aesthetics, single-sided swingarm that replaces the previous double arm, but combined with a monocoque frame, and a twin-cylinder 155 HP superframe which is a guarantee of fun on the circuit and on mountain roads. Well sharpened sport, but without putting too much anxiety when turning the gas.
For 2020, the Panigale V2 sees numerous innovations also for what concerns the electronics with the use of the inertial platform even more performing and safe in sports use, as usable and enjoyable for road use. Moreover, confirming the qualities also on the purely road profile, a more comfortable rider saddle that now offers a greater possibility for longitudinal displacements as well as a different padding, but also a revised suspension calibration with modified hydraulics.
BICYLINDRICAL STAINLESS STEEL
The engine is the 955 cc Superquadro (a / c measures 100 X 60.8), now compliant with the Euro 5, despite the restrictions imposed by the regulations it offers greater power (+ 5 CV) and torque (+ 2 Nm). Ducati declares 155 HP at 10.750 rpm and a maximum torque of 104 Nm at 9,000 rpm. The merit of these performances comes from new injectors and new intake ducts (revised but unchanged in the 62mm diameter), but also by the configuration of the new silencer that exploits a new internal layout that, with the same counter-pressures, more easily reduces noise peaks . This work made it possible to reduce its size compared to the 959 Euro 4 plant. Inside we also find two catalysts, larger and with greater impregnation, which allow the Euro 5 limits to be respected.
REFINED CYCLING
On the cycling level we have the well-known monocoque aluminum frame with a structural element engine, combined with a new single-sided swingarm that follows the shape of what was seen on the V4. The wheelbase is from 1,436 mm, while the dry weight is around 176 Kg (200 Kg in ODM)
There is a fork to watch over the chassis Showa BPF 43 mm, fully adjustable, and a mono Sachs also it widely adjustable.
As for the brakes of the Panigale V2 we have a refined package Brembo compound, at the front, by monoblock calipers M4.32 driven by radial pump and 320 mm discs. At the rear a 245 mm disc and a Brembo caliper.
The wheels of the Panigale V2 are 5-spoke with a 3.5-inch channel at the front and 5.5 inches at the rear, and "fit" tires Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II: 120/70 and 180/60.
The electronic equipment is also complete and up-to-date, based on the 6-axis Inertial platform. The new electronic package aims to improve the standards of active safety and control of vehicle dynamics thanks to the "cornering" functionality of the ABS, to the quickshift, now also with downshifting, to the traction controls, engine brake and wheelie. The electronic package includes: ABS Cornering EVO; Ducati Traction Control (DTC) EVO 2; Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO; Ducati Quick Shift up / down (DQS) EVO 2; Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO. Preparation for: Ducati Lap Timer GPS (DLT GPS), Ducati Multimedia System (DMS), Ducati Data Analyzer + GPS (DDA + GPS).
As usual, all controls are integrated into the three Riding Modand (Race, Sport and Street) and modifiable through the new one TFT dashboard 4.3 "color screen with graphics and interface designed to make menu navigation intuitive, adjust settings, as well as more immediate identification of the Riding Mode selected.
