Eye to the tires The obligation for the winter ones has been triggered

As the reversal approaches, it becomes essential to adapt your car to changes in weather and climate, and from Friday November 15th there was the obligation to have winter tires or chains on board. Article 6 of the Highway Code introduced by law 120 of 29 July 2010, in fact, made these provisions necessary for the coldest period of the year, and the order will be in force until 15 April 2020.

The purpose is precisely to be equipped in a suitable way for driving on snow or ice: your car will therefore have tires marked with the symbols M + S, M&S, MS and MS and the replacement can be made starting from a month before of the beginning of the obligation. What risks do pizzicato motorists not in order? Certainly fines from 41 to 169 euros for those traveling in the city center, from 85 to 338 euros outside the city center and from 80 to 318 euros if you are without tires and snow chains on the highway.

Furthermore, the agent who detects the violation could order the detention of the vehicle until it is fitted with winter tires or fitted with chains. In the event that the detention is not respected there is a further fine of 84 euros to which is added the deduction of three points from the license. It should also be remembered that winter tires must be approved, otherwise there is the risk of another administrative penalty ranging from 155 to 624 euros.
