X-Men: Dark Phoenix, the final chapter of the X Men's film saga, is available on Home Video. The review of the Blu-Ray edition and a clip of the extras.
The film once again places the famous in the center of the plot saga of the Black Phoenix, already adapted for the big screen in 2006 in X-Men – Final Conflict, with the young mutant Jean Gray (Sophie Turner) who is possessed by a powerful cosmic entity which is not exactly benevolent.
Featuring a top-notch cast including James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, from Thursday 24 October the film is available in Home Video in the formats DVD, Blu-ray and 4k Ultra HD, ready to be reviewed on your home TV set.
Below we propose the Blu-ray edition review of X-Men: Dark Phoenix, kindly sent to us by the Italian division of 20th Century Fox, which aesthetically presents itself in a simple amaray single disc case.
Audio & Video
The Blu-ray edition of X-Men: Dark Phoenix presents the film with a 1080p encoded AVC transfer to 2.39: 1. While the quality of the CGI effects is not always satisfactory, the level of detail remains excellent for the entire duration of the feature film, fully restoring imperfections and peculiarities of the faces of the protagonists on which the director lingers on many occasions.
Unlike the Marvel Studios films, often an explosion of colors, the last chapter of the X Men's film saga alternates extremely saturated moments with other desaturated ones, but manages to maintain a visual coherence that this edition in Home Video confirms and exalts.
Speaking of the audio sector, for the X-Men: Dark Phoenix Blu-ray is the speech that is made for the vast majority of products distributed by us in this format. The Italian track in Dolby Digital 5.1 once again discrete, presenting a satisfying mix between sound and dubbing; nothing to do, however, with the power, depth and dynamism of the original version in DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1, able to release all the energy of the film and to enhance the soundtrack signed by Hans Zimmer.

Among all the extra contents of this edition, the most interesting is without a shadow of a doubt the long documentary – about 80 minutes! – dedicated to the making of the film, through which it is possible to deepen and better understand many of the choices regarding the texture and tone of the feature film.
