Bonus for TV and decoder, from December 18th to the contribution: that's how much you can save

From 30 July 2022 it will be necessary to have a television and a last-generation decoder, with DVB-T2 technology, to be able to receive the TV signal but the benefits are already available immediately.

In fact, the decree law of the Ministry of Economic Development gives the go-ahead to the Official Journal bonuses that will start next December 18th.

The bonus will be a maximum of 50 euros, so if the purchased device will cost less the discount will be less than not everyone will be able to take advantage of the incentive that is addressed only to families with Isee up to 20 thousand euros: it will be necessary to download from the website of the Ministry of Development a form in which you will have to certify your total income.

The retailer must bring the completed and signed form, the identity document of the buyer and the tax code. The operator will have to introduce the buyer's tax code on the Revenue Agency's website, in order to have the ok for the bonus. The Revenue Agency will also communicate the details of the buyer's identity document and the identification data of the product in order to verify its suitability.

The retailer will recover the discount in the form of a tax credit at the first useful tax declaration.

As mentioned it starts from 18 December 2019, so close to next Christmas and will be in effect until December 2022. Public funds total 151 million euros, equal to 25 million for 2019, 76 million for 2020, 25 million for 2021, and 25 million for 2022.

The question to ask is how much it will cost Italians to change their equipment or adapt it. The price of DVB-T2 digital terrestrial decoder varies from around 20 euros to around 50 euros one while that of a DVB-T2 digital terrestrial TV has a higher cost and prices are around 200 euros to go up.
