BMW is one of the most active houses in the development of hydrogen and for this reason it is working for six years with Toyota. From what we know today probably the first device will be presented in preview on the exclusive successful BMW X7 suv.
It has not been officially confirmed by the House and the work to be done is still much, according to what reported by the Spanish automotive portal motor.es however the gigantic suv could become hydrogen. It is really about the initial plans of the brand with the fuel cell, convert the exclusive X7 into an electric car equipped with hydrogen cells.
The very experienced technicians of the German brand will therefore work over the years development of new systems, the truth however is that the choice of X7 is not accidental. Hydrogen is a very sophisticated technology that, even in 2023, it will still be too expensive to be implemented at the mass production level. This therefore requires a car that is up to the circumstances, among other things due to its high price, the units sold will be almost like test models.
BMW, as we have said, is obviously not the only company in the automotive market to research and experiment with this type of technology. Also Audi will launch a crossover powered by hydrogen and Toyota just launched the second generation of its hydrogen Mirai on the road. Another brand committed on this front is also Mercedes, which is making great strides in this regard.
BMW also presented an advance of hydrogen car taking as its basis the X5, its name is Bmw i Hydrogen Next. At the moment there are no official data communicated by the House, no one knows advantages and neither Technical specifications, most likely we will soon be aware of everything the brand has planned and is planning for X7.
