The truth about Mertens and Inter, which could take the Belgian footballer, but only on a free transfer starting next June.
The words of De Laurentiis were already heavy, which harshly criticized the player's "desire for China" (as well as Callejon) and claimed to have offered the player a three-year deal with the same current figures. This proposal was evidently not accepted. In fact, Mertens has been looking elsewhere for some time: despite having claimed to want to renew, the Belgian is evaluating offers and possibilities from China, but not only. The courtship of Inter has been stronger, following Mertens for a couple of years. The Belgian is a small ball of Marotta, who would like to take it as a zero parameter in July to include a quality reinforcement, which can be a precious resource from the bench. The Napoli player is interested: he wouldn't mind the experience in Milan, because he still feels young and able to give so much. Inter could attempt the assault for January, but it is very unlikely that this could happen. Mertens would leave Naples only with an expired contract, while De Laurentiis would demand at least 20 million, despite the remaining few months of contract. In fact, it does not even appear that the footballer has proposed to Inter: it is true that Mertens would welcome the hypothesis, but it is the Nerazzurri club that is pressing hard to make the shot at zero cost next June. That of Mertens is the case most eclantate, but we must also follow the situation of Callejon, without forgetting that probably Allan will ask to leave, as well as – probably – Koulibaly. And then there is Insigne, now en route with the environment and that could decide once and for all to change air to go elsewhere. (Giovanni Scotto – Il Roma).
