The history of the Blue House
At the beginning of the 1950s the idea was born to build a specific site for a 'study and experience center', physically separate from the company. The architectural project was by Eduardo Vittoria and the structural one by Pier Achille Caponago del Monte.
In 2001 the building was renovated by architects Ettore Sottsass and Marco Zanini to house the headquarters of the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea.
The renovation project just completed by Tim, the promoters explain, "the objective was the conservative restoration and the extraordinary maintenance of the building, paying particular attention to the need to provide, as much as possible, the maintenance and the reconstruction of the original design "This is an important step for Olivetti and Ivrea, which once again show their willingness to innovate while maintaining a solid tradition".
