On the occasion of Milano AutoClassica (November 22-24), the Wannenes auction house will win a copy of Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione whose history is linked to one bet made by Sergio Marchionne with a dear friend.

The friend in question challenged the former FCA CEO to buy Opel: if he failed, he could have ordered his 8C in the extra color he wanted, the "Maserati Blu Notturno". If instead Marchionne had acquired the Russelsheim brand, the gentleman in question would have had to settle for a standard color between the Pastel Red Micalizato, Black Micalizato and Giallo Micalizato in which the custom-built Biscione was available.

However, despite the insistence of Marchionne, Opel remained the property of GM, which then sold it to PSA only in 2017. The Italian-Canadian manager therefore had to pay pledge allowing the friend to have his 8C in a single blue. The car was delivered to its only owner so far in 2010.

The specimen in question is the number 176 of the 550 products. In addition to the exclusive color, it is distinguished by the Frau black full-grain leather interior, yellow colored brake calipers and the dedicated luggage set.

It has covered 44,000 km and is evaluated in a fork that goes from 240,000 to 400,000 euros.
