MESTRE / PADOVA – Lo food waste technology breaks it down thanks to the intuition of the Venetian "H24Invent" that has put on the market a product that combines innovation and sustainability, creativity and design. IS Memo Food Clip, a patented solution and composed of a wooden memo clip (made with the fallen trees of the storm Go to) that can be applied to foods and an app that through the smartphone warns (three days and then even 24 hours before) of the imminent expiration of food stored in the fridge or in the pantry of the house.A social and economic cost: in Italy, in 2018, 15 billion euros in food ended up in the basket: 247 euros for every citizen, including newborns. "The data on food waste are impressive, although in recent years there have been numerous awareness-raising campaigns on the subject – he recalls Enrico Ranzato, managing director and founder of H24Invent -. Given the scale of the problem, we have thought about how to use technology to find a solution to a phenomenon that not only affects the daily life of Italian families, but is a real ethical issue at global level ».

During the design work came then the Vaia storm which at the end of 2018 upset the Northeast, knocking down 8.6 million cubic meters of timber. "We could not remain insensitive to a climatic event that shook our territory – continues Ranzato -. From there came the idea to reuse part of the wood for some of our special clips and, above all, to finance the reconstruction ". Two euros for each pack sold will in fact be donated to the Municipalities affected by the catastrophic climatic event.

HOW IT WORKS A clip to apply to food, also useful for closing bags. And a connected app, downloadable on the smartphone, which allows you to enter the expiry date in an intuitive and fast way. Not only: if you want you can add, always with great ease, info on the product, such as, for example, the price or the date on which the package was opened. The clips, four per pack, are in different colors: each is equipped with a microchip that communicates with the app. The user will receive an alert three days and 24 hours before the deadline.

TEAMWORK – H24Invent was able to create Memo Food Clip thanks to two important partnerships: with Logika, a molding company from Ceggia (Ve) that co-financed the production and prototyping part and Bozza Legnami, the company that operates in the field of wood since 1956, which made the clip made with the material post Vaia. Among the founding members of H24Invent there is Enrico Maria Patrizio, former player of the Italian national rugby team, a past between Mogliano and Petrarca Padova as club teams. With double degree: economics and enology at the University of Padua.
