We tend to associate the Conservative vote in the west of the country, but it is also very strong in the suburbs of Toronto. We went to meet young people who are convinced that the future goes through conservative ideas.
Fahmid, 20, dreams of working in the oil industry. He lives in Burlington and studies mechanical engineering at the University of Waterloo. According to him, the environment should not be a priority that surpasses the fight against poverty.
Raquel is a 22-year-old Franco-Ontarian. She works in Burlington and studies at Ryerson University. The most important thing for her is to have a government that does not have a deficit. Last year, she voted for Doug Ford in the provincial election. But she is partly criticizing what the Ontario premier has done.
Nancy, 34, is a Catholic, anti-abortion mother of three young children in Burlington. Not convinced by the climate crisis, it claims the right for citizens to post their religion at school or at work.
All three recognize flaws in Chief Andrew Scheer and his election platform, but it is still his choice on October 21.
