The Tokyo Stock Exchange opened a new strong Wednesday, thanks to encouraging business results in the United States. The further weakening of the yen was also buoyant for investors who expect higher profits for exporting firms.
In the very first exchanges, the Nikkei index of the 225 star stocks gained 1.78%, or nearly 400 points, at 22,602.16 points. The broad index Topix rose on its side by 1.50% to 1.644,52 points. The Tokyo side had already made significant progress on Tuesday despite the typhoon that plunged Japan over the weekend.
