MLB: Joe Girardi is considered for the Phillies manager position

            <p style="margin:0in 0in 10pt">The Philadelphia Phillies are planning to meet Joe Girardi and Buck Showalter for their position as manager, reported Ken Rosenthal of <em>The Athletic</em>.

The Chicago Tribune says that Dusty Baker is also considered.

Girardi spent 10 seasons with the New York Yankees, winning the World Series in 2009. He was replaced by Aaron Boone when his contract expired in 2017.

Showalter was out of work last season after being dismissed by the Baltimore Orioles. He also has experience with the Yankees, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Texas Rangers.

The Phillies thanked Gabe Kapler after two seasons on October 10th. The team has missed the playoffs in the last two years.
