Harley-Davidson had to pause the production and deliveries of its first electric motorcycle, the LiveWire.

It's a blow for Harley-Davidson. The automaker was forced to completely suspend LiveWire production, its flagship electric motorcycle, because of a problem with the load, the Wall Street Journal reported on October 14, 2019.

It is the company itself that confirmed the information: " We recently discovered a non-standard problem when we did a final quality check. We stopped all production and delivery and launched additional tests and analyzes She said.

A problem with the refill

What is happening to customers who have already received their electric motorcycle since last month? Harley-Davidson is reassuring and says they can " continue to ride with their LiveWire ". According to the WSJ, the manufacturer reportedly told dealers that it needed to do additional tests on the charging mechanism. So far, around 1,600 units have been produced.

The LiveWire is the first 100% electric motorcycle launched by Harley-Davidson: it is supposed to be marketed around 34,000 euros. Able to swallow 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds, the two-wheeler is clearly designed to please the purists (at the level of style) but be accessible to novices (the absence of clutch that facilitates steering ).

The LiveWire was to be marketed in a Parisian shop before the end of 2019, revealed France Inter last December. To date, it is impossible to say whether these deadlines will be met.
