Actor Ron Ely's wife, who played Tarzan, killed by her son

The wife of American actor Ron Ely, who was known to have encamped Tarzan in the 1960s, was stabbed to death by the couple's son who was later shot dead by police in their California home, according to the police Wednesday, October 16th.

Police officers from Santa Barbara went Tuesday night to the luxurious home of the Ely family after an emergency call related to a family dispute. They discovered the lifeless body of Valerie Lundeen Ely, 62, presentingmultiple stab wounds".

The suspect, Cameron Ely, 30, the victim's son, was shot just after by the police. "The agents searched the residence and its surroundings to find Cameron ElySaid the local sheriff's office. "The suspect was located outside the house, he represented a danger and in response the four officers fired at the suspect with their service weapons, fatally wounding him".

It is unclear whether 81-year-old Ron Ely was injured in the family dispute. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said, but came out soon after.

The imposing physicist (1.93 m tall) played Tarzan in the Hollywood series of the 1960s. He has also appeared in multiple series and in a dozen films. With his wife, a former beauty queen, they had three children.
