As part of its sustainability plan, the fast food chain Burger King announced that it will stop distributing plastic toys in children's meals in order to reduce polluting waste in the world.
This measure will save approximately 320 tons of single-use plastic per year only in its restaurants in Britain, the fast-food giant said. However, this initiative is expected to expand to other countries, Thomson Reuters news agency published.

The executive director of Burger King UK, Alasdair Murdoch, said the plastic toys initiative is part of a broader strategy to reduce packaging. "We are focused on eliminating single-use plastics, and that is why we have taken this measure with toys," he added.
Burger King will also launch a plan for customers to return any figures they have received, in an attempt to address the growing problem of plastic waste in the world, where franchises are increasingly adding to this trend of sustainable development.
It should be noted that McDonald’s announced Wednesday that some of its restaurants in Britain and Ireland would allow customers to exchange toys from their happy boxes for a bag of fruits starting next month and that they planned to introduce books as an option in early 2020.
