As they affirmed this event that will take place from October 15 to 17 in Montreal, it is organized by the Ministry of Culture, the embassy of the Dominican Republic in Canada and the National Commission of the National Ephemeris.
Minister Eduardo Selman highlighted the diplomatic fraternity that exists between the Dominican Republic and Canada, with the presence of a laborious community of Dominicans and the fact that this sample is celebrated coinciding with the celebration in that nation of the "Hispanic Heritage Month."
Referring to the event, Ambassador and former Minister of Culture, Pedro Vergés, explained that the election of the Dominican Republic as host country was decided by the administrative council of the Quebec Hispanic Heritage.
He said that during these days, the country will present an exhibition of Dominican books: Literature, History and Cinema in Canada, organized jointly with the University of Concord. This will be sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the Dominican Republic.
Pedro Vergés said that Dominican participation will include holding several seminars on Dominican literature and history, with Canadian and Dominican writers; a donation of books to the Concordia University library, a screening of Dominican films, a meeting with Dominican students in Montreal and other artistic and cultural activities.
The activity in Canada will be carried out at the facilities of Concordia University, one of the most important in that nation.
The diplomat added that this event is part of the activities commemorating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and the Dominican Republic, scheduled by the diplomatic mission he leads and Hispanic Heritage Month in Quebec, which this year has a Dominican Republic as guest of honor country.
The event also spoke the historian Juan Daniel Balcácer, director of the Permanent Commission of Efemérides Patrias, who said that this “is a great opportunity to project the cultural and intellectual and bibliographic heritage that we have in our country. The Commission of Ephemeris Patrias one of the publications that will lead to this Exhibition is a complete collection of Professor Juan Bosch, which is 40 volumes, in addition to other publications that we have sponsored. ”

Participating Dominican institutions include the collaboration of the National Editor, Efemérides Patrias, the Montreal Tourism Office and the Quebec Hispanic Heritage Association, among others.
