An operation was underway Monday to rescue more than 30 people in distress in a burning ship off Los Angeles, California, the US Coast Guard said.
They said on Twitter that they "deployed several rescue teams (…) to help more than 30 people in distress on a boat near the island of Santa Cruz".
"Information says the boat is on fire, "they added, adding that crew members had been rescued and that "Efforts continued to evacuate the remaining passengers"
