The National Institute of Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima) announced that the company Kimberly Colpapel detected that some of its products are outside the microbiological specifications.
These are four batches of wet wipes. The first of which the Invima refers to is related to the Huggies One & Done Wet Cleaning Wipes, with lot number 200719 02.
The second product is the Huggies Daily Cleaning Wet Wipes, with lots 210719 02; 230719 02 and 240719 02. "This situation could generate the presentation of adverse events on consumers, which is why it was ordered to remove the affected lots from the market throughout the country," the Invima said in a statement.
In addition, the entity reported that they carry out relevant inspection, surveillance and control actions to prevent these products from reaching the hands of consumers and added that there are around seven thousand packages of towels, affected with the Enterobacter Gergoviae bacteria.
Attentive
As for commercial establishments, distributors and marketers, it is recommended that if you are using the product mentioned above, you must first “immediately suspend its use”, since it represents health risks.
The second call has to do with the provision of information, in case you know or identify the sites where the product is distributed or marketed.
Finally, the Invima ensures that if it presents an unexpected event associated with the application of this product, it must be reported through the entity's website (https://app.invima.gov.co).
"Two lots are sold in Colombia and two were exported by the company," said María Natalia Pinzón Durán, director of Cosmetics, grooming, pesticide and domestic hygiene products at Invima.
