Rumors suggest that the development is so advanced, that the new City will be presented in February 2020 in India, where it has already become one of the most important sedans for the brand. Its commercialization date in the different Asian markets must begin during the second semester of that same year.
The design will be inspired by the Honda Crider, an exclusive sedan of the Chinese market, developed from an updated and extended version of the City platform. We will see, therefore, a very horizontal front dominated by the chrome grille of Honda, as well as a rear with C-shaped skulls.
It is not known if the City 2021 will resort to a new platform or if it will simply adjust the current one. It is said that Honda is working on a hybrid variant, although the electrification-free mechanical offer will not be new; will keep the 1.5 liter atmospheric engine 118 hp and 107 lb-ft, available with five-speed manual gearbox or CVT automatic transmission.
The new generation of the Honda City must reach Mexico at the end of next year. The current model is imported from China and is for sale in a price range from $ 268,900 to $ 306,900.
