A bird that hit the turbine it was the cause of the flight WO 312 of the airline Swoop will present failures in the aircraft, shortly after taking off from Abbotsford International Airport.
The passenger Terrence Rodríguez captured the moment the problems were recorded, from the window of the aircraft. In the video it is observed that a series of flames leaves the turbine, intermittently.
The passengers on board began to shout "Fire, fire!" To alert the crew, since with each flare, turbulence was felt on the plane.
The pilots managed to make an emergency landing on it airport in which they took off minutes before and all the people were evacuated immediately.
Terrence Rodríguez also shared a video of the emergency landing, without any major incident.
The airline Swoop He estimated that the plane could return to operation hours after the collision with the bird. However, after a more thorough review, it was concluded that the aircraft would need a longer maintenance.
Therefore, Swoop had to occupy another plane to complete the WO 312 flight to Edmonton, Alberta. Passengers had the option of boarding the aircraft or canceling their ticket to get a refund.

According to the Association of Crashes with Birds of Canada, the birds that imply a greater risk of impact on airplanes are the black vulture pelicans, herons, beach birds, aquatic birds, raptors and seagulls, especially when they flock.
