The EPM Group, through its subsidiary in Chile, signed a contract for the sale of shares with AES Gener S.A. and its subsidiary Norgener Renovables SpA to transfer 100% of its shares of Los Cururos Wind Farm, an operation amounting to US $ 138 million.

The decision is part of the disposal plan promoted by the company to meet the liquidity requirements derived from the contingency at the Ituango hydroelectric power plant, after a collapse in the project diversion tunnel was presented at the end of April last year. which resulted in the accumulation of water and a constant alert for the possibility that it overflows and affects more than a dozen municipalities.
Los Cururos is located in the fourth region of Chile, 330 kilometers north of the city of Santiago in the Coquimbo region of Chile. It has an installed capacity of 109.6 MW and a total of 57 Vestas wind turbines that started operating in mid-2014.
This was the first business that closed EPM in the Republic of Chile through its subsidiary, EPM Chile SA, and with the support of the Danish firm Vestas, which supported the construction process for 14 months for EPM to operate the park for five years, extendable to another five.
