As one of the first big publishers to leave Steam, Ubisoft highlighted theEpic Games Store, launched last year by Epic Games. While there is a lot of criticism on the part of the players, the studios and publishers are generally much more enthusiastic.

This enthusiasm, the developers keep it from economic model proposed by Tim Sweeney's platform. Indeed, where Steam takes 30% income generated by the games, with a discount according to volumes, the Epic Games Store does not warn than 12%.

Economically, it's obviously very interesting for developers, even if some prefer to rely on the huge market that Steam represents, installed for years. For Ubisoft however, the economic model proposed by Valve no longer holds the roadas Chris Early, vice president of partnerships and revenues at Ubisoft told our colleagues in New York Times :

The economic model they have (Steam) is unrealistic. This does not reflect the current market situation in terms of game distribution.

This is however not the opinion of all developers, and particularly that of independent studios. A few days ago, Unfold Games explained why he did not accept Epic Games' proposal for his game called DARQ.
