Pope is better and follows videoconference meditations. The Vatican is thinking about anti-Coronavirus measures

Vatican CITY – Pope francesco from Santa Marta follows the spiritual retreat by connecting in video conference every day with the house of the Divine Master in Ariccia, where, from Sunday afternoon, the whole curia is withdrawn for the traditional period of reflection and meditation. From his study he follows the morning meditations of the preacher, the Jesuit Pietro Bovati (who yesterday gave a reflection on the biblical theme of fear).

The Vatican pointed out that the course of the Pope’s cold “proceeds positively so much that he continues to celebrate Holy Mass daily” in the internal chapel. In recent days the pontiff has undergone the swab to rule out that it may be coronavirus. The result of the medical test was negative and so he quietly continued his activity of individual hearings, however avoiding more tiring appointments or outdoors, just to recover better.

The activity of the Holy See in fact – with the spiritual exercises of Lent – has been suspended at least until Sunday but from next week the program relating to the general audiences of Wednesday, the visits of groups or heads of state should resume. However, the decree of the Italian government and the consequent decision of the CEI to ban masses in the contagion territories and to limit the gatherings of people is causing the Vatican to rethink the reorganization of things.

“With regard to the activity of the Holy Father, the Holy See and the Vatican City State in the coming days, measures are being studied to avoid the spread of covid-19, to be implemented in coordination with those adopted by the Italian authorities”, he reported the director of the Vatican press room Matteo Bruni.
