Israel Railways is continuing to accelerate the project to convert the railways into electricity, which will enable the operation of state-of-the-art electric trains, environmentally friendly and quiet, and improve vehicle service throughout the country.
For the purpose of connecting the new electrical operating complex of the trains, Ashkelon Station will be closed to train traffic from Friday 13.3.20 at 00:01 (the night between Thursday and Friday) until Wednesday 18.3.20 at 5:00 am.
In the meantime, trains in the western Negev (Be’er Sheva / Ashkelon-Rishon Moshe Dayan-Tel Aviv / Raanana) – will operate in a split format, commencing and terminating their journey from the south at Sderot station and from the north at Ashdod to Halom station.
Passengers to and from Be’er Sheva will use the east line, which will operate as it passes through Lod stations, Mazkeret Batya, Kiryat Malachi Yoav, Kiryat Gat, Lehavim Rahat.
The Israel Railways will operate a free shuttle service between the Sderot and Ashdod stations, in both directions, and between Ashkelon and Ashdod, in both directions.
The direct night trains between Be’er Sheva and the south to Ben Gurion Airport operated by night from the south (from Be’er Sheva via Ofakim, Netivot, Sderot, Ashkelon, Ashdod to Halom, Rehovot, Lod, Ben Gurion Airport and Tel Aviv Defense) – will begin and mark their journey From the north at Ashdod station to Halom instead of the Central Bus Station
Trains in the Ashkelon / Rehovot-Netanya / Binyamina suburbs will begin and end their journey from the north at Ashdod to Halom instead of Ashkelon.
Area traffic will return to the series on Wednesday, March 18, 20 at 5:00 p.m.
